What is Hashing?
"It's an informal, non-competitive run with a scavenger hunt twist to it. The reward for just being out there is beer; your running ability is the last of anyone’s concerns. And your sense of humor is what is more important."
-- Mr. Beanie Weenie
Basically, one runner (the "hare") takes off ahead of the other runners (the "hounds"). The hare leaves a trail of flour markings for the hounds to follow, usually with a few tricks along the way.
Vulcan H3's trails are typically 3-5 miles long, moderately hilly, and include some "shiggy" (unpaved parts like hiking trails, creek crossings, or storm drain spelunking). Trails also include at least one water/beer stop. Afterwards we have a few drinks, eat some snacks, and sing a few songs.
